Lovesick & Colorblind
Rescuing each other
First cut of a proof of concept.
Chloe, my Mom’s dog she rescued, and one of the inspirations for this documentary.
Lovesick & Colorblind is a work-in-progress short documentary seeking financial backing & support. Recently I directed a short documentary, Way the Wind Blows, which has been in several film festivals and was aired on PBS 12 Jan. 7.
This short documentary will follow the story, struggles and adventures of a passionate foster family, Kieran and Mike, in Denver finding a forever home for a dog while juxtaposed to the dog’s story. Two unlikely heroes fighting for animals and what we all deserve, a happy and healthy life. They volunteer for Animal Rescue of the Rockies.
Learn more about Kieran & Mike in the proof of concept video.
In the United States, around 568 dogs are euthanized in shelters every day, which is roughly one dog every 2.5 minutes. In 2023, the number of dogs euthanized was more than 359,000, which was a five-year high. Source.

Why? I love animals! You can tell good people by the way they treat animals. We all should be helping those without a voice. If this documentary could help spread awareness and save at least one dog or cat’s life, it would be a success.
This past summer we were visiting family in the Philly area. My Mom got an email that a dog was on her last few days of life before being euthanized. Without meeting her but having many calls with the shelter, my Mom took a risk and adopted Chloe. I wanted to help too in my own way and reached out to Animal Rescue of the Rockies so filmed a local foster family extremely passionate and working so hard to help. The video was to help Animal Rescue of the Rockies. I’m imagining an untraditional, quirky documentary with good music, interesting people with the goal to humanize dogs.
