Marshall Fire

Almost two years ago on December 30th 2021, a destructive wildfire swept through the town of Louisville, Superior and parts of unincorporated Boulder County. Many of our friends lost pets and their homes. Two people lost their lives.

Below are some photos I took documenting the recovery process for the City of Louisville. Other photos are included from a short documentary.

A little context.. I’ve lived in Louisville with my family for over 10 years and love it! I reached out to the City and asked if they would be interested in a travel show, instead they hired me to document the recovery and rebuilding of our town. Here’s more from this experience. It’s been really amazing meeting so many great people who work for the City of Louisville.

Unrelated to the City of Louisville work, I’ve been working on a short documentary filming a friend who lost some of her pets and her home. We’ll release more info about it someday soon.

A gigantic thank you to every first responder and person who has helped! With hurricane force winds, the fire grew out of control super quickly. In a few short hours the fire travelled 6 miles. It could have been a lot worse and I’m so thankful for how quickly and thoughtfully people reacted helping each other evacuate.

Articles for the Boulder Weekly, photos & recovery.

The Colorado Chautauqua

This has been a wonderful year creating videos and I’ve been super happy to film at one of the most special spots in Boulder, Colorado - Chautauqua! Below are some photos + video work for The Colorado Chautauqua. You will find videos/photos about Chautauqua 125th Anniversary, a very inspiring women’s retreat, seasons at Chautauqua, Festival Del Sol, and more. More videos on Chautauqua here.

Colorado Chautauqua is committed to its historic purpose and preserving the land. They offer musical, arts and educational programs, charming accommodations in our historic cottages, weddings, a general store with coffee, ice cream and shopping, there’s the Dining Hall, and access to 40 miles of trails and thousands of acres of open space. The Colorado Chautauqua Association is located on land that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute peoples.

Louisville Farmers Market

Photo & video work created for the Louisville Farmers Market, you can see below. The Louisville Farmers Market was founded by Kelly Miller 15 years ago and voted the number 1 farmers market in Colorado. She created a diverse community of local farmers and artisans delivering healthy food and amazing live music. I loved meeting so many interesting people doing something they love! I also ate some amazing tomatoes thanks to Farmer Frank from Father Earth Organics and my favorite crepes from Captain Crepe.

More videos to come.

Gregory Alan Isakov

Sometimes I just can’t find the words but I’ll try. Taking photos of Gregory Alan Isakov in the mountains by a lake was a dream.

Photos of Gregory Alan Isakov at Dillon Ampitheatre.

On the inside I felt like Aunt Sue from SNL, having the opportunity to take photos of one of my favorite musicians! On the outside I probably was totally calm and collected ;)

Below is a stop motion for fun and some photos of the experience at Lake Dillon. Shovels and Rope opened and now I love their music too! Check out C’mon Utah. Proceeds of ticket sales went to Boulder Food Rescue.

If you made it this far down, for the fun of it here are more photos from this most amazing weekend in the mountains with our friends!

Lake Dillon

And we all shine on. Like the moon and the stars and the sun. - John Lennon

One of my favorite places to spend time at is Lake Dillon, Colorado. Below are a few photos from over the years with our family. It’s a perfect place to get sandy, gaze at the mountains, and you can paddle board to tiny islands!

I’m realizing Ellie might be smelling a weed. Sometimes it’s hard to tell!

On that note, it’s that time of year for family photos! I will post photo session info soon. You can see more photos here.

Little Stranger at Red Rocks

A huge thanks to Steve Vidaic for bringing me on to film Little Stranger at Red Rocks! What an experience!

Sunflower Farm Videos + Stills

Sunflower Farm is a a magical place located in Longmont, Colorado where families can visit and explore. There’s so much you can do there - Farmfest hours, summer music evenings, school programs, camps, and more. I love the animals.. and people behind Sunflower Farm!!

A few summers ago I created this video for Sunflower Farm. Since then I’ve photographed & filmed Sunflower Farm’s Farmfest and Summer Music Series. You can reserve your spot under “visit us” on their website.

I absolutely love the Summer Music evenings and recommend getting tickets! Reservations on Sale in April-Reserve Now! It’s an intimate outdoor setting with happy people and chickens wandering around the property (with a view of the mountains!). Thank you Liz, Farmer John, and Bren for inviting me to document such a special place!

Elements Training

Here are photos and a video I made for Elements Training, simple training methods for athletes of all abilities. Also the founder of Elements Training, Jonathan Garcia, is truly amazing at what he does and is a good friend - we strongly recommend him! As a coach, Jonathan helps each client gain equilibrium among these multiple elements to achieve the ideal level of preparation for their health and athletic goals. He also happened to be a professional cyclist racing all over the world, no big deal.

Make an appointment and start training!

City of Louisville videos

I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to create several videos for the City of Louisville, Colorado! It has been meaningful getting to meet some of the employees, residents, and everyone who has been working hard to rebuild. I’ve lived here for over 10 years and love this place! Photos & videos below.

Over the course of 2022 I documented some of the rebuilding and recovery efforts of Louisville after a destructive fire. The Marshall Fire destroyed 1,000 homes and structures, taking the lives of over 1,000 pets and 2 people.

Ribbon cutting / Louisville, Colorado

Below are some photos I took last week of the ribbon cutting celebration at the first home ready for move in after the Marshall fire. Super happy for Jessica and her kids!

On December 30th, 2021 fueled by hurricane force winds a fire burned more than 1,000 homes & structures as it burned through parts of Louisville, Superior and unincorporated Boulder County

It’s been a tough year and it’s important to acknowledge everyone is at a different place in their journey. Every story is so different.

I’ve lived in Louisville, Colorado for over 10 years. It’s home and I love my friends and the life we’ve built here so much!

How did this video & photo work all start? A few months ago I reached out to the city to find out if they would be interested in a local travel show. I’ve created travel shows in the past and really enjoyed it. Instead they asked if I could make other videos for Louisville, so that brings us to today.

It’s been an honor to document some of the rebuilding efforts for the City of Louisville. I’ve met a ton of amazing people from Louisville and all over the county who truly care and are working hard during the recovery. Thank you video below!

I’m thankful for this work and hopeful for a new year full of happiness and new beginnings for our friends.
