We continue to work with Megan Sweeney from Big Heart Film year after year at Sunflower Farm, as she truly is able to embrace the vibe and feeling that our small farm embraces.  We’ve been working with her since 2019 and there is no other videographer we would want to use for our promotional and memorable videos.  She is always able to see and feel our vision, in order to show others how magical the land at Sunflower Farm is. - Liz Napp, Sunflower Farm

Louisville Farmers Market

Photo & video work created for the Louisville Farmers Market, you can see below. The Louisville Farmers Market was founded by Kelly Miller 15 years ago and voted the number 1 farmers market in Colorado. She created a diverse community of local farmers and artisans delivering healthy food and amazing live music. I loved meeting so many interesting people doing something they love! I also ate some amazing tomatoes thanks to Farmer Frank from Father Earth Organics and my favorite crepes from Captain Crepe.

More videos to come.

Gregory Alan Isakov

Sometimes I just can’t find the words but I’ll try. Taking photos of Gregory Alan Isakov in the mountains by a lake was a dream.

Photos of Gregory Alan Isakov at Dillon Ampitheatre.

On the inside I felt like Aunt Sue from SNL, having the opportunity to take photos of one of my favorite musicians! On the outside I probably was totally calm and collected ;)

Below is a stop motion for fun and some photos of the experience at Lake Dillon. Shovels and Rope opened and now I love their music too! Check out C’mon Utah. Proceeds of ticket sales went to Boulder Food Rescue.

If you made it this far down, for the fun of it here are more photos from this most amazing weekend in the mountains with our friends!

Voyage Denver article

Thank you Voyage Denver for this piece on my video work! Making films is my true north and appreciate that I can do my thing… in Colorado! You can read more here.

Don’t worry, I never look through the lens;)

That’s my best friend’s daughter!!

Elements Training

Here are photos and a video I made for Elements Training, simple training methods for athletes of all abilities. Also the founder of Elements Training, Jonathan Garcia, is truly amazing at what he does and is a good friend - we strongly recommend him! As a coach, Jonathan helps each client gain equilibrium among these multiple elements to achieve the ideal level of preparation for their health and athletic goals. He also happened to be a professional cyclist racing all over the world, no big deal.

Make an appointment and start training!

Rook Capital

Below are some videos (and photos!) I created for Rook. Rook helps people achieve the dream of owning a home. I filmed Rook last fall and the team is truly a great group of people working hard for their mission. It really was a lot of fun!

Videos include a who they are documentary style short, vertical instagram trailers, and a video for homebuyers.

Beautiful aerials by Greg Brenton!

City of Louisville videos

I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to create several videos for the City of Louisville, Colorado! It has been meaningful getting to meet some of the employees, residents, and everyone who has been working hard to rebuild. I’ve lived here for over 10 years and love this place! Photos & videos below.

Over the course of 2022 I documented some of the rebuilding and recovery efforts of Louisville after a destructive fire. The Marshall Fire destroyed 1,000 homes and structures, taking the lives of over 1,000 pets and 2 people.

Family photos 2022

Hi out there! Last year was a fun and big year with photo adventures. I took a ton of family photos and enjoyed every minute of it with everyone!
Below are just a few photos (a few from 2022 may have snuck in there and I plan to add more)!!

Ribbon cutting / Louisville, Colorado

Below are some photos I took last week of the ribbon cutting celebration at the first home ready for move in after the Marshall fire. Super happy for Jessica and her kids!

On December 30th, 2021 fueled by hurricane force winds a fire burned more than 1,000 homes & structures as it burned through parts of Louisville, Superior and unincorporated Boulder County

It’s been a tough year and it’s important to acknowledge everyone is at a different place in their journey. Every story is so different.

I’ve lived in Louisville, Colorado for over 10 years. It’s home and I love my friends and the life we’ve built here so much!

How did this video & photo work all start? A few months ago I reached out to the city to find out if they would be interested in a local travel show. I’ve created travel shows in the past and really enjoyed it. Instead they asked if I could make other videos for Louisville, so that brings us to today.

It’s been an honor to document some of the rebuilding efforts for the City of Louisville. I’ve met a ton of amazing people from Louisville and all over the county who truly care and are working hard during the recovery. Thank you video below!

I’m thankful for this work and hopeful for a new year full of happiness and new beginnings for our friends.

Voyage Denver

A few months ago Voyage Denver interviewed me about my work. I’ve been creating videos since I was a little kid. Really! Thankfully I had a tv studio in my high school and a supportive amazing teacher, Mr. Profeta (who went by Pro). I wish I could thank him today. If you have a teacher you loved, stop reading this and just go thank them!

Once you figure out what you love to do, chase after it! There will be ups and downs in anything you do. I love filmmaking and never take it for granted.

Adventure Nannies

Video + photos for Adventure Nannies below. Adventure Nannies is a nationwide recruitment agency focused on providing nannies, private educators, newborn care specialists, and inspiring role models for globally-minded and progressive families. Another fun shoot in the books filming & starring Peyson & Erin, thank you for being so great on and off camera! A huge thank you to Danielle Sadler too, who is lovely to work with!

New Demo Reel

I’m obsessed with making videos. It’s my thing. I create videos from idea to final edit. It makes me happy and my goal is to create videos that make you happy.

During the pandemic, like most families, it’s been hard to balance time. I am taking on a few projects depending on the timeline, please reach out if you’re interested and have any questions.

Happy Sunday Studio

Something fun happened…

I reached out to a small business owner in Bournemouth, England to see if she would be interested in trying out a new idea with me on creating a video. She was and it happened!

HAPPY SUNDAY STUDIO is a Mom-run business inspiring people of all ages with her banners and positive words. Anna and her husband, Peter, have quite the sweet set up with their two sons creating these beautiful banners.

Back at the beginning of the pandemic when we were homebound I was brainstorming new ways to continue being creative and making videos… I came up with this idea: Creating videos from AROUND THE WORLD. I learn about your business, create a video outline, shot list, storyboard, you film the shots, and I edit putting together a polished video like the one above on Happy Sunday Studio. Anna and Peter filmed with their phones and sent me the footage.

We can do a lot with a little and having a video of what you do is a powerful way to communicate. Your audience is smart. I think being sincere and honest is the way to go. I love creating videos and now I can create from anywhere in the world.

This is Joy and Claire

Here’s a short series of videos I recently created (concept, filming, to editing) for the weekly podcast, This is Joy and Claire. They’re a charming duo and it was a fun morning shoot hiking in Boulder. This project really was a joy, no pun intended! I’ve known Joy for a decade and loved being able to work with her again.

"Megan worked with us to create the perfect videos! We've been podcasting for over 7 years and wanted a new creative way to showcase our brand. From start to finish, Megan was committed to delivering exactly what we were needing. She communicated often about her ideas throughout the process, and immediately had a vision when we told her what we had in mind. Her planning and precision is unmatched. Megan has the experience to know exactly what needs to happen to make the day go smoothly. If you're looking for a talented, creative, friendly, and dedicated videographer look no further!” - Joy Parrish

This is Joy and Claire has released over 400 weekly episodes and bonus features. They cover everything from mental health, wellness, marriage, and parenting, to all the other random things that you’d talk to your friends about.

New episodes are available every Thursday, wherever you get your podcasts.

Energize Colorado

It felt great to volunteer and make this video for Energize Colorado a few months ago. They are here to help Coloradans provide resources and relief to small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals, supporting them in recovering from the economic impact of COVID-19.

I also had fun filming from afar wearing a lovely mask my friend Danny, owner of My Brother’s Bar, and got to film at Moxie Bread. Also thanks to Dave Mayer from Technical Integrity for all he does for Energize Colorado and recording those AMA’s you’ll see shots from in this video.

If you need help or want to give help, please check out Energize Colorado. There are good people in this world!

This is REB

I’ve always had a love for entrepreneurs and small businesses, and have been lucky enough to film lots of entrepreneurs over the last decade. Watching people create worlds they want to see and learning about different passions is super interesting!

I’m now offering small business video packages, more info here! This is an easy, affordable way to show potential customers who you are and get your message out there through video.

I know this is a tough time for a lot of people for many different reasons. I take safety really seriously. When is comes to filming small businesses, I’ll remain a minimum of 6 feet away, wear a mask, and at this time use a shotgun microphone so I don’t have to get close with a wireless mic.

Our friend, REB - refinishing everything beautiful, specializes in kitchen cabinet and wood furniture refinishing. I made this video for Rebecca & Jay a few months ago. Here’s the instagram version.

Little Big Heart Trailers

Little Big Heart is a short documentary I recently made about kids, growing up, and staying young. Kids can say the funniest things and often teach us just as much as we can teach them. When I stared Big Heart Film, I did with the intention of creating more films giving kids a voice.

I’m also super thrilled & humbled that Little Big Heart won Best Children’s category in the Independent Shorts Awards in LA. Here are a few trailers…

Family documentaries

Video is a powerful tool. You can make someone smile by giving them a family movie. Learn more here.

I’ve truly enjoyed editing your mini family documentaries and hearing how happy they’ve made the people you care about feel! I know it’s personal to send someone else footage of your life. It’s an honor and a lot of fun to be part of something positive. If I can help make people happy through video, that’s the dream!

On that note, Happy Birthday Ellie! I love you infinity!! Here’s another example of a family documentary I put together.

Parks Project - Seek Refuge

A few months ago I filmed my beautiful & lovable friend, Jen, for a Parks Project video featuring their seek refuge in the outdoors tee. Love what Parks Project is doing to support National Parks and the products they sell. They believe in protecting, promoting, and preserving public lands. Thank you Jen! Here’s the instagram video version I edited.
