We continue to work with Megan Sweeney from Big Heart Film year after year at Sunflower Farm, as she truly is able to embrace the vibe and feeling that our small farm embraces.  We’ve been working with her since 2019 and there is no other videographer we would want to use for our promotional and memorable videos.  She is always able to see and feel our vision, in order to show others how magical the land at Sunflower Farm is. - Liz Napp, Sunflower Farm

Happy New Year!

Kids often say the cutest and most clever things. Maybe we all should take more moments to just listen.

Happy 2021 everyone! Wishing you all health & happiness! Looking forward to a better future for our children.

To be a kid

Happiness is when the kids are happy.

There’s so much we can learn from children such as how to enjoy the simple things, exploring with curiosity like the world is new, and how to laugh like no one is watching! To quote Brian quoting Daniel Tiger to our kids the other night “Enjoy the wow that is happening now”!!

Little Big Heart Trailers

Little Big Heart is a short documentary I recently made about kids, growing up, and staying young. Kids can say the funniest things and often teach us just as much as we can teach them. When I stared Big Heart Film, I did with the intention of creating more films giving kids a voice.

I’m also super thrilled & humbled that Little Big Heart won Best Children’s category in the Independent Shorts Awards in LA. Here are a few trailers…

Family documentaries

Video is a powerful tool. You can make someone smile by giving them a family movie. Learn more here.

I’ve truly enjoyed editing your mini family documentaries and hearing how happy they’ve made the people you care about feel! I know it’s personal to send someone else footage of your life. It’s an honor and a lot of fun to be part of something positive. If I can help make people happy through video, that’s the dream!

On that note, Happy Birthday Ellie! I love you infinity!! Here’s another example of a family documentary I put together.

Make someone smile

You can easily give video as a gift!

Most of us are staying home and hopefully safe. It’s a good time to organize your videos & photos. It’s also a good time to turn all of those memories into a video… and give it as a gift!

I think when shit goes down like it has across the whole world, it’s a reminder of what really matters in life - the people you love to surround yourself with, your family & friends.

Editing these family movies and knowing how special they are to you guys, really has brought me a lot of happiness during these crazy & sad days. Video is a powerful tool. We have the ability to make people smile simply by watching a video. Here’s a video I made for a friend, Lindsey from The Mother Chic.

This is a new thing that I’m doing as part of my business. We’re all in this together. Let’s spread some love & happiness through great memories.

Give video as a gift!

Hi friends & fam,

I’ve been making videos since I was little, since before it was a thing. Documenting makes me happy. There is just something magical about video. It also can make a unique gift! I made this video for my son’s 5th birthday! If you’re interested in having your own family movies edited, please see video packages & more info here.

Little Big Heart

It’s shocking what’s happening in the world right now. Hard to accept and believe but hoping we can all come together and stay apart, stay home, & stay safe!

Since you guys are probably home, please take a minute to watch this trailer below, it’s only 1 minute! I hope it brings you a little joy during these difficult times. You can watch more trailers for Little Big Heart here.

Recently I made a short documentary about kids & growing up for a fun side project. My AMAZING friends let me film their hilarious, inspiring, sweet kids and here is the first trailer for LITTLE BIG HEART. Thank you to all of the parents & kids in this little movie!! Also a huge thank you to Greg Brenton for the aerial footage and Sydney Wayser for letting me include her song “Dream It Up”.

Thankful & honored it won Best Children’s Short at the Independent Shorts Awards in March!

Sunflower Farm

Sunflower Farm is located in Longmont, Colorado with lots of different animals to say hi to and fun activities for kids of all ages. Our kids love it there and we do too! It’s really a happy place where kids can explore and have their own little adventures. Below is a video I made for Sunflower Farm, filmed over the course of a few months. If you’re interested in visiting the farm, check out their website to get tickets.

A huge thank you to Hannah Leslie and all of the cute kiddos (and animals) who made cameos!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

“There are three ways to ultimate success:
The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind.
The third way is to be kind.”
- Fred Rogers

Hi guys! I'm starting this new company, Big Heart Film, and although the video content will be diverse I'd like to spend time giving children a voice too. With this in mind, a great way to kick off the blog is encouraging you to watch this documentary "Won't You Be My Neighbor?"

My friend told me about this film so we went to the theatre, watched it, and fell in love with it!  What an uplifting story about a man who's purpose in life was to help children. He was the creator and star of the TV show, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Mister Rogers promoted empathy, kindness, and equality. He was their advocate and took kids' feelings, thoughts, and questions seriously. It's uplifting and a healthy reminder that there are people out there with giant hearts, like him. Thank you to the team of filmmakers who made this documentary and thank you to Fred Rogers who was the hero to many children during his life!

There are so many inspiring quotes from Fred Rogers, here are just a few:

“Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero to me. ”

Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.

“When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.”

“Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.”

“When we love a person, we accept him or her exactly as is: the lovely with the unlovely, the strong with the fearful, the true mixed in with the façade, and of course, the only way we can do it is by accepting ourselves that way.”
